Texas Medical Board Rule ChangesFebruary 11, The Texas Medical Board adopted changes to the following Rules which proposed changes were previously published in the Texas Register: The changed Rules are: Chapter 162. Supervision of Chapter 171. Postgraduate Training Permits: repeal of Section 171.7, Inactive Status. Chapter 172, Temporary and Limited Licenses: amendments to Section 172.4, State Health Agency Temporary License, regarding duration of license. Chapter 175, Fees, Penalties and Forms: amendments to Section 175.1, Application Fees; Section 175.3, Penalties. Chapter 189, Compliance Program: rule review and amendments toSection 189.1, Purpose and Scope; Section 189.2, Definitions. The significant changes are to Rules 189.1 and 189.2. The Texas Medical Board adopted a new subsection (c) to be added to Rule 189.1 which gives the Board the authority to promulgate rules relating to the development of a program to monitor compliance of license holders who are subject to disciplinary action. The Texas Medical Board changed the definition of monitoring physician in Rule 189.2(o) to include a doctor who reviews a probationer's medical/billing records.
